Appropriate recommendations under extreme time pressures
The Covid-19 pandemic and resulting declaration of a level 4 national incident led to CHC assessments being suspended between 19 March 2020 and 31 August 2020. The government subsequently announced CHC assessments must resume from 1st September 2020 and all patients that should have been assessed during the emergency period should be removed from the emergency NHS funding by 31st March 2021. The Local Authorities needed support with adapting their business as usual process and liaising with multiple partners and the infrastructure required to meet the deadline.
Fair recommendations
A new model, the pressures of the ongoing pandemic, & 5 partners involved in the project meant that processes must be extraordinarily clear to ensure the right recommendation for patients was achieved. Utilising sector specialists, Attenti helped to ensure all assessments offered fair representation for the patient and Local Authority whilst adhering to national guidance and allowing for the time constraints.
Outcomes
•End-to-end Local Authority process designed in line with national CHC and Covid-19 guidance
•600 CHC assessments completed before NHS England deadline
•CHC process evaluation
•Recommendations report from Attenti CHC Lead based on data from the cohort and analysing patterns and trends
"Our experience of working with Attenti has exceeded expectations, Regular meetings and sharing of performance data ensured we kept on-track, and any difficulties encountered along the way were quickly and efficiently dealt with"
